- Vegetable Garden/Breeding of Earthworms (Horta/Minhocário)

Teachers can work on many ideas, such as the complete
process of growing plants, preparing the soil, planting
seeds, the biological control of plagues, imigration and
harvest. You can also visit the breeding of earthworms.

- Orchard (Pomar)

Simiar to the Vegetable Garden, students can also try
seasonal fruits and have the opportunity to identity
plants (their names).

- Coconut and Grass Plot (Plantação de Grama e Coco)
|

A large area where teachers are able to practice notions
of commercial growing of coconut and grass, complete
process of growing them, biological control of plagues,
irrigation and harvest, as well as storage.

- Little Animals Nursery (Viveiro de Pequenos Animais)

Ideal place to exercise vocabulary related to Pets,
where students can identify different species (names)
and study their feeding process.

- Milking (Ordenha)
|
At this spot, students themselves can milk a cow,
including instructions about the process. Teachers can
review many vocabulary points, such as animal husbandry
(cattle, sheep, horses, ponies, etc.).

- Cheese Making (Mini Laticínio)

It is activity involving the process of cheese
instructions and complete method.

- Lake (Lago)

Teachers can present the "Water Cycle", treatment of
water, irrigation. Here we also have a fish hatchery
with many species.

- Wind Mill (Moinho/Energia Alternativa)

Teachers are able to practice notions of meteorology,
weather, seasons of the year, directions (North, South,
East, West, etc.). There is a wind mill, which works
with wind power to capture water used at Rancho
Colorado.

Information can be given about the history of Brazilian
Indians, through their craft work. Students are able to
work with clay, making objects based on samples given.

- "Cerrado" Spot (Casa do Cerrado)

Here, "Cerrado" systems are available. Great to work on
environmental awareness and ecological consciousness.

- Indian Memorial (Memorial do Índio)
|
It is a place rebuilt to show the Brazilian Indian
culture, home and craft work.

- Breeding of Ostriches (Criação de Avestruz)
|
Teachers can work on wild animal topics. Students can be taught notions of
breeding ostriches.

many options of activities that can be used as an extra class practice
of the target language. In all of then, students will work in contact
with nature.
Rancho Colorado can been seen as an extension of the classroom - a place
where you can create new opportunities for your students to communicate
in many different situations.
During your visit, you will be able to work with your own methodology.
If you wish to, you can make a previous visit to Rancho Colorado, in

Schedule
